Outside of The Gill Street Band, Ryan is a hardware design engineer, specializing in embedded x86 computer architecture. He currently also performs with rock and roll band Chris Rattie & The Brush Valley Rumblers, and funk/party band The Hot Sauce.
He has enjoyed touring with former regional soul band Black Coffee, and has performed as a member of numerous State College area funk/fusion projects including soul/jazz trio Dirty Superb and jamband Cootie Brown.
His favorite performance opportunities were in the City of Harrisburg’s Capital Rotunda with Cootie Brown, and as a musician in the Nittany Valley Shakespeare Company’s 2010 performances of Much Ado About Nothing. Among his most memorable performances was a wedding reception with Vitamin Funk where John Sebastian emerged from the crowd and hopped on stage with a harmonica to join a blues jam.
